IDE4Romulus is a project that aims at increasing the productivity of the web application development by providing IDE integration facilities to Roma Framework. Roma, in fact, has a shell console that allows the creation of new projects, the installation of modules, their addition to a specified web application, but it's not integrated with the target work's instrument used by architects and developers, the two main users categories of Roma. Following the Domain Driven Approach proposed by Roma, the developer uses the IDE to create the POJO classes, that describes the domain and the behavior of the application, and the framework will provide the need support for creating the data access, the presentation view to the user, the workflow, the report, and so on. In this context, the development productivity is increased providing to the programmer a confortable work environment, fully integrated with the chosen develpment technology, based on Roma. IDE4Romulus aims at providing this enviroment by enriching the two currently most used IDE, that is Eclipse and NetBeans, in order to reach the major number of develpers and to enlarge the support to open source IDE platforms.
